Drunk driver kills his two cousins.

Metaraka Hikurangi Reihana

20-year-old Metaraka Hikurangi Reihana has been charged with two counts of manslaughter after the car he was driving collided head-on with another vehicle.

Reihana was reported to have been racing another vehicle at the time. His cousins Merepeka Morehu-Clark, 14, and Brooklyn Morehu-Clark, 13, who were in the back seat of his car both died as a result of their injuries.

Reihana’s 2-year-old daughter was also present in the car (unrestrained) and fortunately sustained only minor injuries.

The girl’s mother Phillippa Morehu, 36, and 17-year-old Haki Davey have also been charged with their manslaughter.

While the reasons for the charges against Phillippa Morehu and Haki Davey have not been given, it is not difficult to conclude that they were the occupants of the vehicle that Reihana was racing.

Drunk driving and killing innocent people is not accidental. He made the decision to drive and gamble with innocent lives and he lost. He is a killer.
