Child killer and prolific breeder Maine Annabella Ngati.

The woman who killed her son 3-year-old Ngatikaura Ngati in 2007, and was convicted of his manslaughter, has given birth again while in prison.

Mother who killed child gives birth in jail.

Maine Annabella Ngati and her partner Teusila Fa’asisila were each sentenced to eight years and six months’ for the manslaughter of Ngati’s 3-year-old son Ngatikaura Ngati in 2007. They were ordered to serve a minimum of four years and eight months.

Ngati appeared before the Parole Board on November 7 and was denied release. However, the board’s decision revealed she had given birth in prison.

Ngatikaura Ngati, dead at the hands of his mother and partner.

“She has a lot of children and we believe she has even given birth to another child while on this prison sentence. That child has been fostered or adopted into the community,” the report said.

A jury in the High Court at Auckland heard how Ngati would punch her son in the face, strike him with a stick and whack him around the head. Ngatikaura had transformed from a happy and confident boy to a terrified child who would mess his pants then try to throw the evidence out of the window to avoid beatings.

He was hit with weapons including a bat, and his blood was found throughout the house, including on the ceiling. Ngati would be entitled to reapply for parole in 12 months and Fa’asisila would go before the board this month.

Corrections psychological services director Nikki Reynolds said the department would consider a request for Ngati to have counselling.

maybe the government should stop paying woman like these to sit at home and give birth, the more children you have the more money you get, and people like this take full advantage of that! and then they dont even take care of their kids with the money their getting, usually its spent at the pub or on the pokies, i dont think this woman should ever have the privlage of even APPLYING for parole, and if they do let this woman out, it should be on the condition she get her tubes tied, better yet, remove all her reproductive organs!

We keep paying these people to have babies – WHY!!!. When are we going to stop being so PC. We need to start thinking of the Children, they can’t defend themselves. Stop giving the Children back to so called Parents who know how to tick the boxes and lie that they have changed after doing a few parenting courses. Yeh, right. Look at the death rate of our beautiful Children who will never grow old. Come on all the agencies that get funding to help in these cases – grow a back bone and stand by what you gut tells you. Don’t bring in the PC bullshit into it.

i agree with you, at what point do we try to make sure these children have atleast a chance of a life without abuse, and neglect, it may mean being raised outside of family but if all the safety nets and monitoring is secured around them they will atleast be able to surivive, and go on to hopefully break this appalling cycle. They will know how it feels to go to bed at night tucked up and feeling warm and safe, it is every childs right..

Serve penalties for NEGLECT….to people who see the abuse but FAILED to report. Like the relatives of this small defenceless child they should ALL be charged for NOT STANDING UP AND REPORTING!!!! THIS LITTLE BABY BOY NEEDED A VOICE AND NO ONE HELPED HIM…:( SHAME!!!

what 8 years each and a minimum of 4 years and 8 months, that’s just bull****. how could they get a light sentence like that for the abuse and manslaughter of her son. that sentence is absolutely disgusting. sentences like this don’t keep our children safe. they will be out to reoffend and abuse yet another child of theres. larger sentences should defiantly be brought to ATTENTION. they should defiantly be away for much longer. poor lil boy so innocent taken from this world in a cruel and harmful manner. people like this need to suffer.
